Presence is powerful.

The vision to see people made fully alive in the hope of Jesus on every campus is a statement about the power of the presence of Jesus’ church in our world. Every campus is made up of people that are precious, valuable, and need the opportunity to know Jesus. The only way they will know about Jesus is if someone goes to be in their world.

Presence requires three essential ingredients: place, people and provision. We have the place: campuses all over. We are discipling the people. We invite you to join us with the provision.

Why the Discipleship Centre?

To equip generations of disciples for the future.

The Next Generation Discipleship Centre serves as a space for training and equipping disciples to be sent to university campuses across the world to see people made fully alive in the hope of Jesus. There is a tremendous need for truth to be proclaimed on post-secondary campuses now more than ever, as the world drastically moves away from the Gospel. 

Training Space for Future Disciple-makers

Each year we accept and train a new cohort of missionaries and tillers through Living Sent Missionary School. The Next Generation Discipleship Centre houses the space for them to receive in-person training in a collaborative environment. These leaders are committed to the long -term mission of LIFT Church and are commissioned to begin, lead, mobilize and send new Simple Churches across our campuses.

Home Base for all LIFT Campuses

A space to send missionaries to other campuses and welcome them home to rest and retreat. A space to spontaneously bring disciples together to build one another up and celebrate what the Holy Spirit is doing across each campus.

Resource and Content Production

Each week, we are developing written and digital content to equip each disciple-maker to tackle challenging topics and walk with their disciples as they learn to live a life surrendered to Jesus. The discipleship centre provides flexible co-working and collaboration space to workshop and design new content as well as the studio space to produce it.

Community Space for the Neighbourhood

With the discipleship centre 600m from McMaster University, there is a huge opportunity to have an “open doors” space where any student can come study, where international students can receive support as they settle into Canadian life, and where students can get to know those serving in their neighbourhood.

Serving the Campus and City

A large kitchen equipped to provide meals to 100+ people in two Hamilton low income neighbourhoods, and food and resources to 40+ people living on the streets and in vulnerable situations in downtown Hamilton. As a registered Good Food Organization with Community Food Centres of Canada, we can address food insecurity and invite students to serve those they otherwise wouldn’t encounter.
