Book Review- Waiting and Dating
Don’t be fooled by the title of this book, this is not your average, corny dating book. Waiting and Dating by Myles Munroe is a funny, edgy, book that gives great advice to any single Christian. Whether you are young and looking for your first partner, or have been married before and are newly single, this book offers a lot of advice and great wisdom. Myles Munroe starts the book by discussing the importance of being single, how this time prepares you spiritually and in other ways to be able to be in a lifelong relationship. He then discusses how to be in a relationship, yet still keep God at the forefront of your life. Finally he discusses the engagement period, and how important it is to not only think about the wedding, but plan ahead for the future. In doing so he also breaks down some of the myths that society teaches us about relationships.
Myles Munroe gives great insight into what dating really means, how the Bible prescribes us to date and how to plan to have a lifelong, Christian relationship.
Waiting and Dating is a quick, easy read, that will provide you with a lot of information and insight into your own life. Definitely check it out!
Book Review- Love Your Neighbour
Love Your Neighbour is a book that takes some of the most talked about issues in society and discusses them from a Biblical standpoint. Some of the issues tackled by this book include homosexual and heterosexual relationships, abortion, climate change, politics, euthanasia and more.
This is a very informative, albeit conservative book on today’s issues. The authors are very cut and dry about explaining the facts and opinions on these issues.
This book may not be for everyone (some may find it a bit dry) but if you are interested in topics such as these, or are a leader looking to generate discussion with Christians and Non-Christians alike, this may be a good book for you. There are also discussion questions supplied at the end of each chapter to help further discussion in groups.
Over all this was an interesting book, which discussed a lot of hot topics and provides some thought provoking answers.
Book Review: Between Religious Rocks and Life’s
If you have ever had a question about Christianity, whether it had to do with marriage, denominations, Christian lingo, salvation, euthanasia or more this is the book for you! It doesn’t matter if you have been a Christian your whole life, or are just looking into what this whole Christianity thing means Greg Albrecht’s book is a great source of answers.
He truly deals with almost any question you could think of in a simple, concise way.
This book is a very easy read, but will definitely leave you thinking. I would recommend picking it up for you, your friends or anyone who you think will have questions about Jesus.
Between Religious Rocks and Life’s Hard Places is a great read, and a great book for all to have, just 15$ at the Lift Booth!
